Vivienne Westwood
There are many waves of British fashion and each new fashion generation makes an impact in some way. However, some make more of an impact that others. One of these designers is Vivienne Westwood. She is credited with designing the look of the punk scene in London during the seventies and eighties.
Vivienne’s link to punk was through Malcolm McLaren who was famously the manager of the Sex Pistols. They opened a boutique in London which drew a huge following for the designs which were made famous by Malcolm’s band.
The big designs of the punk generation included ripped clothing, safety pins and bondage trousers.
The impact that she had on the world during the punk times has still latest to today. She has a number of her own name boutiques as well as her collections being available in many of the world’s leading department stores and boutiques.
Vivienne Westwood man clothes ranges are wide and varied and very popular. She always produces a range of styles for men ranging from more conservative to more outrageous designs.
Whereas most women of Westwood’s age would be putting on their slippers and enjoying the quiet life, she is doing the opposite. Westwood has strong political views and is often publicising them along with being at the helm of one of the world’s largest fashion brands.
