John Lewis To Capitalise In Online Fashion Boom
The previous year has seen a huge growth in the online fashion industry with sites such as ASOS and Net A Porter reporting huge growth in revenues. Overall the sector has been growing at a rate of 30%. Because of this, John Lewis is the latest retailer to announce that it would be launching a more comprehensive fashion section to its online presence.
This news comes after Tesco recently announced that it would be launching an online fashion store to rival ASOS.
A spokesman for John Lewis, commented that the current fashion section of its site is very basic and the demand for a more comprehensive offering has been demanded by customers.
As a business John Lewis has been performing very well and its overall fashion sales in its stores are growing at a rate of nearly 5 percent. They are planning on expanding the number of designers that they offer and are expecting the online fashion site to be a huge success.
