Jean Paul Gaultier Men
Gaultier is one of the old guard of French designers. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he never actually went to fashion school. He received his break in the early 1970s from Pierre Cardin who saw some of Gaultier’s designs and liked them. The first collection from Jean Paul Gaultier men was launched in the mid seventies. His more signature rebellious side started to come through in the early eighties. He has always been very connected to abd influenced by popular culture. One of his most famous designs was for one of Madonna’s largest tours where he provided her cone-bra. He has long had a flair to his mens fashion lines such as when he was using kilts in his collections.
As well as being connected to many pop stars such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Marilyn Manson, Gaultier has also designed for many films including The Fifth Element and The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover. Jean Paul Gaultier male concentrates on three fashion lines of his own and is also a designer for the recent clothing collection from Hermes.
Gaultier has always drawn influences from far and wide such as India and Judaism and as such his collections are always very unique.
Along with his fashion collections, Jean Paul Gaultier men also has a very successful range of fragrances. He has released many fragrances over the years which are always presented in interesting and unique bottles, often modelled on the male or female form.
Gaultier is a colourful character who aside from being a fashion designer has also been a TV presenter and presented Eurotrash on Channel 4 for many years. His unique personality can be seen in his designs.
