Gucci Men

Gucci is one of the oldest and most famous clothing brands in the world. It first came into being in the 1920s in Italy. As well as being one of the best known and aspired to brands, it is also one of the largest and owns a number of other well known labels such as Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney. It is the most popular label that comes from Italy.
Being such an old brand, they have seen many changes over the years in ownership as well as well as creative direction. The man who is responsible for the label’s continued success from the nineties onwards is Tom Ford. Ford initially was planning on being an architect but didn’t finish his course after making the decision to choose a fashion career. He first started working at Gucci in the early nineties. This is also when the business was struggling the most. Ford was appointed as creative director of the label just three years after he was first hired by the company. He was determined to reinvigorate the brand that had been suffering under its previous leadership.
Tom Ford is now a well known fashion designer in his own right and through the nineties and early two thousands he managed to steer Gucci to not only financial success but also to its position as one of the world’s most prestigious fashion brands.
Ford is no longer at Gucci, but they have still managed to maintain their successes with the designers who have been with the label during Ford’s tenure. The recent collections have been receiving the same kind of adulation that Ford’s first did back in the mid-nineties.
The Gucci style is often very clean and tailored with very high quality fabrics. It is well referred to in popular culture and is often a rappers favourite referred to in many Hip Hop tracks.
