Helmut Lang
Many argue that more of the world’s greatest fashion designers come from Europe and Helmut Lang is another reason to back that argument. Helmut Lang is an Austrian fashion designer who has been producing men’s fashion since the late seventies.
His original career path was finance but he took a switch to fashion as that was his true passion. He started designing in the late seventies and finally set up the Helmut Lang label in the mid eighties. Lang’s signature style is simple plain colours and slim tailoring.
The label grew in popularity and headquarters moved to the USA. The brand is still going strong today but Helmut officially ended his involvement in 2005. It is still as big as it ever was producing its simple men’s fashion. The products are available in high end boutiques and department stores as well as online. The company is now owned by a Japanese firm who have been able to continue to drive the brand forward.
As well as producing men’s fashion, Helmut Lang also produce men’s fragrances and aftershaves.
