The company has been around for over thirty years and have been producing men’s fashion since the early eighties. They are hugely respected around the world and started showing their new collections in Paris in the early eighties. They often take creative approaches to the ways that they sell their clothes along with conducting extra art installations such as photography exhibitions.
The lines are produced and developed in Japan and the company is still controlled by just one person. The label is respected as one that does not always think purely of commercial appeal of their garments rather it is about taking risks and pushing boundaries.
Comme de Garcons have also produced collections with other brands such as Lacoste, Fred Perry and Nike.
They also produce a line of fragrances that are for both men and women. Like with their clothes, they often look to push in the opposite direction to the norm when it comes to their fragrances.
They also add their unique approach when it comes to their stores such as Dover Street Market in London. This is a high end fashion store that also sells other fashion brands that have been invited to design unique collections for the store.
They also use a “Guerrilla” approach to some of their stores that they launch in temporary spaces around the world.
