Care for Eyebrows

Men's Eyebrow CareA common and annoying problem for many men can be overgrown and unkempt eyebrows. Unfortunately, they won’t often grow in the ways that we would most like so they sometimes require a bit of maintenance. They are an essential component of our faces and work to protect our eyes.

As we get older, they often require more care and attention. There are some do’s and don’ts when it comes to eyebrow maintenance.

Don’ts

Although it can seem like a quick fix, try to avoid shaving your eyebrows. This will just result in them growing again but even thicker.

Don’t trim them with scissors as they will look as if they have been hacked into by shears.

Do’s

Purchase a good quality pair of tweezers and get yourself a nice clear mirror. Quality tweezers will effectively grab and pull out the hairs. It is sensible to sterilise the tweezers before use. A good time to tweezer your eyebrows is after a shower as this will result in open pores which will make the job easier.

Eyebrow Care

There are many different types of eyebrows and as such many different methods for grooming them. If you have extremely long ones, you should brush down the brows with your hands to make the extra long ones stand out. These can then be plucked out. It may hurt a bit but it is a worthwhile exercise.

Men's Eyebrow CareIf you suffer from extremely thick eyebrows, then a good area to concentrate your plucking should be near the centre of the brow. This will tidy them up and reduce the volume of hair in the location. You should also work towards the temple if there is a lot of hair there.

If you suffer from eyebrows that connect forming a “mono brow”, this can be a real problem. A good rule for a gap between your brow is at least the width of your finger. If you are plucking for the first time where there is already a lot of hair, then brace yourself and get plucking. As you start to pluck more regularly, it will be less of a pain.

The first time that you do this will be an uncomfortable experience that will result in a lot of pain and a lot of redness. But a regular plucking will help maintain them and reduce the harshness that a mono brow can add to your face.
